Gary Schultz
Senior Vice President for Finance and Business/ Treasurer of The Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Gary C. Schultz currently holds the position of Senior Vice President for Finance and Business/Treasurer at The Pennsylvania State University where he has responsibility for the Office of Investment Management, Budget Office, Corporate Controller, Associate Vice President and Controller of the Hershey Medical Center, Human Resources, Physical Plant, Auxiliary and Business Services, and University Police. Gary joined the University in 1971 as a Systems Analyst and has held a variety of positions such as Director of Management and Systems Engineering, Assistant Vice President for Operations and Services, and Vice President for Finance.

Gary and his wife, Karen, have two children, Kimberly and Kevin, and two grandchildren, Kyle and Katelyn.

Gary was born and raised in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. He received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering with high distinction in 1971 and M.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1975, both from Penn State.

Among his other professional activities, Gary serves on the Board of Directors of the Penn National Insurance Company and the Penn National Holding Corporation, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County. In addition to being on the boards of these committees, Gary serves as the Treasurer of the PA Chamber of Business and Industry and the Secretary for the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County. Gary also serves on advisory boards of FM Global Mutual Insurance Company and PNC Bank. Relating to his University duties, Gary serves on the Board of Directors of The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Nittany Insurance Company, Nittany Title Corporation, Research Park Management Corporation and the Research Park Hotel Corporation. In addition, he is a member of NACUBO (National Association of College and University Business Officers).

Gary’s personal interests include the outdoors, woodworking, automobile racing, and family.
