Jim Carnes
Jim Carnes is retired after a 32 year career
in electronics with RCA and the Sarnoff Corporation,
where for the last 12 years he was President
and CEO. He graduated from Penn State in 1961
and after four years in the U.S. Navy earned
a PhD at Princeton University in 1970. Jim has
served on numerous business and not-for-profit
boards, including Rider University Board of
Trustees, Thomas Edison College Foundation Board,
and The American Boy choir School. He currently
serves as a director of C-COR Inc. Jim is a
Penn State Distinguished Alumnus, Alumni Fellow
and served two years as President of the Penn
State Alumni Association. He is a Fellow of
the Institute for Electrical and Electronic
Engineers and a member of the National Academy
of Engineering. He and his wife, Nancy, split
their time between their homes in State College
and Sarasota, Florida. Jim is an avid golfer.
